Austin Frink

Austin's VRS features a lightweight Alder body and falme ebony fingerboard.  The Roasted Maple neck is master grade with oil finish and gloss headstock.   After trying a dozen different pickups, Austin chose a Seymour Duncan Alternative 8 for the bridge, a Rizzuto for the middle and a Duncan stack for the neck position.  The bridge is a Gotoh with locking saddles and is recessed into the body.

Bastion Rose on Instagram: "Never give up your instrument. It is so easy to get discouraged when your primary goal is anything other than playing for the sake of playing. Maybe you wish your band was still active. Maybe you wish you could make that record you have been thinking about. Maybe you just wish you could improve your skills but don’t know how. Whatever the reason for discouragement, never stop playing. Come back to just feeling the instrument in your hands. Strum the strings without fretting and feel the reverberation against your body. Play slowly. Take joy in just touching the instrument and hearing any sound that comes forth. That is your baseline. Your foundation. Never stop playing. @rizzuto.guitars #bastionrose #dontgiveup #music #lessons"96 likes, 4 comments - bastionrosemusic on February 18, 2025: "Never give up your instrument.
